Innovatum Offshore Windfarm Subsea Cable Magnetising Service

Innovatum Engineers have successfully completed the Cable Magnetising for a large European Offshore Windfarm. The process was carried out directly from the cable lay vessel over a 9 week period, whilst complying with all the additional Health and Safety requirements covering Covid-19 security.

Cable magnetising is a unique service, carried out exclusively by Innovatum, to subsea cables with ferrous content.

The process "organizes" the magnetic field of each cable, making it more detectable by Innovatum's Smartrak survey system for Cable Tracking and Depth of Burial, working in passive magnetic mode.

Innovatum carried out its first commercial cable magnetisation in 2000.
